Subject: Support Option B for Grand Army Plaza
Dear [Official],
I am writing to urge you to support Option B (“Unified Public Spaces”) in NYC DOT’s Grand Army Plaza public realm study.
This option would close the roadway between the Soldiers’ & Sailors’ Arch and Prospect Park, creating a single, contiguous pedestrian plaza. This would:
- Make crossings safer for pedestrians and cyclists
- Create programmable civic space for the Greenmarket and events
- Connect the recently restored Arch ($8.9M) to the park it was built to honor
- Support the Brooklyn Public Library’s ongoing renovation
Grand Army Plaza should be a place for people, not a traffic circle.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely, [Your Name] [Your Address]
