Design Updates

The plan has been refined based on feedback from 1,624 survey respondents (86% chose Option B). Seven numbered changes are mapped on the right — new crossings to Bailey Fountain, shortened crossings at Flatbush and Vanderbilt, a parking-protected bike lane on Plaza Street, and more.

Three Plaza Concepts

DOT is presenting three design directions for the new pedestrian space: Radial (modern, open, flexible), Diagonal Grove (consistent tree canopy), and Open Axis (historic character, large events). Each includes seating, landscaping, and programmable space.
